Guatemala is an adventure travel gem with a rich blend of natural beauty and cultural depth. Whether you’re hiking the active Acatenango Volcano, trekking through dense jungle to the ancient Myan ruins of El Mirador, or unwinding at a serene yoga retreat on Lake Atitlán, there’s something here for every kind of traveler. Add in colorful markets, colonial cities, and vibrant Mayan traditions, and you’ve got a destination that’s equal parts raw adventure and soulful escape.

When to Visit Guatemala

Guatemala’s dry season runs from November to April, and it’s the best time to visit if you want clear skies for hiking, sightseeing, or traveling between regions. The wet season (May to October) can bring afternoon showers, especially in the highlands, but the lush landscapes and lower prices can be a trade-off for some travelers. For volcano treks, jungle explorations, and lake life, visiting during the dry season is ideal.
